FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS for CABIN USERS
I have no power?
If your cabin loses power, check the main house power outlet, reset the safety circuit breaker button located on the supply lead, and verify that household RCD switches haven't tripped.
- Check Main Supply: Test the external household power point with another appliance to ensure the house circuit is live.
- Reset Lead Circuit Breaker: Locate the reset button on the heavy-duty power lead and push firmly until it clicks.
- Inspect Internal Cabin Board: Check the internal distribution board switch. Flip any tripped breakers down and back up.
- Contact Support: If breakers trip immediately upon resetting, disconnect high-draw appliances (heaters) and call support. Here is a Cabin Power Document which may help. Here is more if your Circuit breaker keeps tripping.
My Hot Water is not hot?
Restore hot water by verifying your 9kg LPG gas bottle is full, turning gas and water supply valves vertical, clearing internal water filter debris, and cycling power to reset the califont system.
- Check Gas Level: Ensure your 9kg gas bottle has gas and the valve is open.
- Verify Water Valves: Confirm intake/outflow valves are in the vertical position (parallel to the pipe line).
- Power Cycle: Turn the cabin power switch OFF for 10 seconds, then turn ON to reset ignition electronics.
- Clean Water Inlet Filter: Unscrew the cap on top of the white water inlet tap using a screwdriver, pull out the mesh filter, rinse under clean water, and reinstall.
- Bleed Air (System Cycle): Turn hot water tap full ON inside. Go outside and turn the main intake tap OFF, wait for the unit cycle to finish, and turn back ON. Repeat up to 10 times to purge trapped air lines.
- Check Water Pressure: Low pressure from header tanks won't trigger the califont flow switch. Consider adding an inline "Hot Water Booster Pump" with an automatic pressure switch. Here is a look at the Operating Manual if you have the OptiFlow, or the Operating Manual if you have the HydroPower.
Why do I have moisture in my cabin?
Compact portable cabins accumulate human breath and moisture quickly. Prevent condensation buildup by creating daily cross-ventilation, running electric heaters instead of gas, and using a dedicated dehumidifier.
- Daily Cross-Ventilation: Open two windows on opposite sides of the cabin daily to flush humid air out.
- Avoid Unflued Gas Heaters: LPG gas heaters release liters of water vapor into the air. Use radiant or column electric heaters instead.
- Shower & Cook with Windows Open: Vent steam immediately during high-moisture activities.
- Dry Clothes Outside: Never hang wet laundry inside the closed cabin.
- Run a Dehumidifier: Keep an automatic dehumidifier running during winter months to maintain relative humidity below 50%.
Can I move my cabin?
No, tenants are not permitted to move cabins. Cabins must only be transported, relocated, or positioned by approved Naki Cabins transport contractors to ensure structural safety and legal vehicle compliance.
- Safety & Insurance: Relocating a cabin requires specialized towing equipment, site leveling expertise, and transport insurance coverage.
- Relocation Requests: Contact us directly if you need your cabin shifted on-site or moved to a new address.
What do I do at the end of the lease?
Provide 30 days' written notice prior to vacating. Disconnect all plumbing and power lines, clean the interior to match handover conditions, and our contractors will disassemble decks and pick up the unit.
- Give 1 month Notice: Notify Naki Cabins in writing at least one month before your intended departure date.
- Disconnect Services: Safely disconnect water supply lines, greywater hoses, power leads, and your LPG gas bottle. Leave the Naki Cabins power leads inside.
- Clean Cabin: Perform a deep clean using our Cleaning Guide (floors, shower, toilet cassette, windows, and surfaces). Here is a helpful Cleaning Guide to get it ready for removal.
- Contractor Removal: Our transport team will arrive to remove external steps, decks, and concrete block foundations, then tow the unit off-site.
